I’m sitting here typing out this blog one handed (the wrong hand, might I add) while my other hand does this
It’s not broken, thank God. It’s just sprained, which isn’t any fun, either.
This morning, while working on cleans, I caught the bar too far forward and it bent my wrist back to my forearm. That shit sucks. Bar path, damnit. Of course it sucks that it happened, especially a week out from the Philly Winter Warmer competition I’m partaking in, and I’m not so thrilled to be sharing my injury story on the internet. I did consider, for a second, just not including it in the blog and pretending it never happened, but that didn’t feel right.
My next few days will consis of ice, heat after 24hours, compression, elevation, around the clock NSAIDs, extra fish oil, turmeric, and epsom salts. After taking some meds and inducing myself into a coma, it feels much better. Instead on writhing in pain 24/7, it now only hurts when i move it or try to use my fingers. I’ll take it.
Instead of wallowing in self-pity, let’s focus on other awesome things.. like the fact that today is day 3 of my Whole30 and that I got to go skiing again yesterday!
My Whole30 meal plan (this sentence has been typed with help from my left hand! We’re doing big things, here.)
Day 1:
3 eggs
1/2 sweet potato
1c cauliflower
6oz pork
2c mixed, steamed veg
1/4 c blueberries
1/4 c walnuts
carrot and cucumber slices
1 banana
(honestly can’t remember what I had for dinner)
Day 2:
Pretty much the same as day 1, with grilled chicken and salad added, and salmon for dinner.
I packed all my food and took it with me to go skiiing, because I know there’s not one ounce of paleo food in that cafeteria, and I was right. Coffee, tea, and water were my only choices.
Day 3 (so far):
3 eggs
1 sweet potato
3oz sliced turkey
3oz olives
Truthfully, all I really want to do right now is eat 37 cupcakes to cheer myself up, but I won’t. Promise.
I’m headed back to the gym to coach a few of the evening classes, then gearing up for the freakin weekend. I think I’m only supposed to say that if my weekend plans include lots of partying and drinks of the alcoholic variety, not sleeping and (Aleeve) pill popping. OHFREAKINWELL

Wow those meals look really awesome and healthy. Anyway I hope you feel better with your wrist and all!

Thanks, Lynn!! I think my wrist is definitely starting to get better. I was able to do pullups today!
Thanks so much for reading!
